Launched in March of 2015, Café Kivu aims to bring the highest levels of customer service, excellent espresso, and delicious pastries to the community of Beni. Our mission is to:

  • create a culture of coffee roasting and consumption in eastern Congo by making use of an excellent local product to enrich the local economy

  • foster community networks in eastern Congo for quality control and ethical practices from seed to cup.

  • insure an excellent product for export from a region that has the potential for producing some of the best quality coffee in the world

Our vision is to see eastern Congo benefit from its own natural resources through promoting a system of conscious capitalism that transforms a local commodity for local consumption.
